Case Study
Excelsior Venice
Grand Hotel Excelsior Venice is an iconic hotel known for its role in the Venice Film Festival and its long-standing influence in the area. During this project, the property was introducing newly constructed rooms and a new head chef with refreshed F&B menus. With only a day and a half to film eleven distinct scenes, the challenge was not only quantity, but doing it in a way that still felt elegant and brand-right. Through extensive pre-production, the shoot was structured to maximize efficiency and produce a substantial library of photography alongside seven adaptable multi-channel videos.
A timeless, transportive identity carried through announcement films, room showcases, arrival storytelling, short-form adaptations, and a still-image library designed to feel elevated across every touchpoint.
Hero Film
Although the visit was primarily focused on PR assets and Instagram reels, the footage was shaped into a more story-driven hero film. The goal was to lean into the nostalgic spirit of the hotel while presenting the property with a richer cinematic perspective.
New Room Reveal
The Excelsior had just completed new rooms and needed assets to support the announcement. This piece highlights distinctive design details and the stunning views tied to each room, with versions adapted for both website use and Instagram reels.
San Marco Transfer
The private transport between Lido and Piazza San Marco is one of the property’s defining luxury features, yet it had been underrepresented. With only seven minutes on location in San Marco, the team executed quickly and intentionally to create quality assets under real pressure.
Reframed for Multiple Touchpoints
These vertical edits were shaped from the same visual world as the broader films, allowing the project to extend naturally across social placements while preserving the tone and identity of Excelsior.
Photo Library
The photography was shaped to carry the same emotional tone as the films, using atmosphere, detail, and a sense of place to extend the story beyond motion.
